South American superstar reportedly sent Liverpool a message before his January transfer

The Daily Express have broadcasted the news from the British outlet, Liverpool Echo, saying that Philippe Coutinho had informed Liverpool that he would give his best for the ‘red shirt’ even if they had refused a £142 million offer from Barcelona.

After weeks of negotiations, Blaugrana eventually managed to snap up the 25-year-old playmaker during the January transfer window.

The former Inter player had announced his desire to move to the Catalan giants on a couple of occasions, but he had apparently also told the Reds heirarchy that he would continue to fight with the same fervor in case he stayed at Anfield.

Nonetheless, the Merseysiders decided to cash in on Coutinho and are currently looking to find a quality player with similar characteristics to that of the Brazilian superstar.

There’s no doubt Liverpool will invest heavily next summer, especially in reinforcing their offensive ranks. Sadio Mane seems to be dropping in form, and manager Jurgen Klopp needs more attacking options to be able to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.
