According to The Sun, Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has designated Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland as his prime target to replace Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, while Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the former Birmingham City player.
Mignolet has already been sidelined by Klopp this season following some miserable mistakes that cost the Reds valuable points, and he is expected to leave Anfield next summer.
On the other hand, Karius has had some encouraging performances lately, especially against Tottenham Hotspur when he denied Harry Kane’s penalty but he still seems unreliable.
It is also highly unlikely the Reds will be able to challenge for the Premier League title with the 24-year-old German between the posts.
Therefore, Liverpool are looking to bring a high-quality shot-stopper and they are now said to be looking to Jack Butland, who has been impressive at Stoke over the last two season seems like a great option.
However, the Potters have slapped £40 million price-tag on their star, and in case Liverpool fail to sign the England international, they may try to take Alisson Becker from Roma again.
