Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has claimed that Everton manager Sam Allardyce has never apologized to him for mocking the way that he speaks and added that it would be too late to do so now.
During the controversial interview where Allardyce spoke to reporters who were posing as businessman, Big Sam infamously referred to Hodgson as a “woy”.
The interview subsequently resulted in Allardyce being sacked by the England national team.
Hodgson, who is now 70-years-old, will still shake hands with Allardyce when their respective sides play against each other, however he did admit that their relationship was affected by the incident.
When asked if Big Sam had apologized, Hodgson said: “No. Do you like being insulted? No, not particularly. Did it bother me? I didn’t lose any sleep over it.
“My relationship with him before, I always thought was good. Now I would expect it to be less good. Would I like him to apologise? No. It’s far too late. It has gone. It belongs to the distant past.
“In jobs like I am doing at the moment when you are the manager of a Premier League club, you live very much in the ultimate present and the future. I’m not interested. I’ve said what I’ve got to say.”
