Ian Wright slams Everton for allowing this player to leave in January

Ian Wright has blasted Everton for having sent youngster Ademola Lookman on loan to German club RB Leipzig last month.

Despite being one of the most exciting young players within the Toffees first-team, Sam Allardyce opted to send Lookman on loan as he feels that the player is not as yet ready to play regular football in the Premier League.

Lookman made a positive start to life at Leipzig during the weekend as he scored on debut during a Bundesliga game against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Wright feels that Everton should not have sent the player on loan by saying, “I would not get rid of Lookman. I wouldn’t send him out because I think he is somebody that can come on and change a game. He can.

“He is somebody that you could bring on for Theo (Walcott), but to send him out completely is just ridiculous.”

Though Everton could have benefitted from late cameo’s from Lookman this season, the loan move could also help him become a better player ahead of next season.
