Celtic reportedly have plans to review their options in key department again

Celtic were forced to make a late search for a goalkeeper during last month’s transfer window when Craig Gordon picked up an injury that is set to rule him out for the next 12 weeks.

Motherwell’s Trevor Carson and Oxford goalkeeper Simon Eastwood were amongst the options the Hoops looked at, with a deadline day enquiries made over the latter.

However, they ended up signing Dundee’s Scott Bain on loan in a double deal with Jack Hendry, and the 26-year-old is expected to provide quality backup and competition for Dorus de Vries.

As per Sky Sports, Celtic have plans to review their goalkeeping options again in the summer when Bain returns to his parent club.

While Gordon is expected to return in between the sticks as number 1 when he returns to action and going forward, the Hoops are preparing for life without the 35-year-old.

De Vries, 37, has also hinted he could be on his way out of Parkhead after having had to play second fiddle to Gordon, and a new and young goalie will likely be targeted.

Carson is 29, while Eastwood is 28, and having already been rebuffed in their attempts to land the duo, Celtic are likely to look elsewhere as they plan to make a permanent goalkeeping addition by summer.
