The Independent have transmitted the words of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp speaking about the future of Danny Ings.
According to the reports, the German expert has no intention of letting the 25-year-old striker leave Anfield this winter after the transfer of Daniel Sturridge to West Bromwich Albion.
The former Burnley forward arrived at the ranks of the Merseyside giants in 2015 but has miserably failed to make an impact ever since.
Due to a series of injuries and the fierce competition in the Reds’ attacking line, Ings has not managed to break into the first-team, often sitting on the bench or watching games from the stands.
However, Liverpool have already lost Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge this January, without signing adequate replacements for either of them, and Klopp is not willing to take the risk with only two strikers (Roberto Firmino and Dominic Solanke).
“No chance Ings is on the market,” he pointed out. “Only if I’m unconscious.”
As things stand, this could be the last chance for Ings to prove his worth in the red shirt because Liverpool will surely invest heavily during the summer.
