Everton manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that he thinks that youngster Ademola Lookman has not has yet reached the stage where he can regularly play in the Premier League.
“Of course, we’ve also got Dom (Dominic Calvert-Lewin) and Ademola but they’re at the younger end and it’s hard for those lads to play every week at this level until they gain enough experience,” Allardyce was quoted as saying by Liverpool Echo.
Although the 20-year-old has shown flashes of promise during the opportunities which have been provided to him, Allardyce believes that he needs to garner more experience before he can cope with the demands of the Premier League.
Lookman was impressive for the Toffees after replacing Wayne Rooney during the clubs FA Cup defeat at the hands of Liverpool.
He also scored a brace during Everton’s Europa League encounter against Apollon Limassol during a game which was nothing more than a dead-rubber.
