Steven Gerrard hails this Liverpool player despite FA Cup exit

Despite Liverpool having suffered a disappointing FA Cup defeat against West Brom on Saturday, Steven Gerrard has raved about the performances of striker Roberto Firmino, who has been in impressive form recently.

Despite the Reds tasting elimination in the FA Cup at the hands of the Baggies, Firmino gave fans of the Merseyside club joy as he scored a goal during the seventh minute of the match to give his side the lead.

The Brazilian has also been one of the standout performers for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season along with Mo Salah and has gone on to score 10 goals as well as make five assists in the Premier League.

While speaking about BT Sports coverage of the Liverpool vs West Brom game, Gerrard said as quoted by Sport Review: “What a beautiful finish.

“Mo Salah tries to score the first one and it’s a good save, but that’s an absolutely gorgeous chip [from Firmino]. The weight of it and the execution is brilliant.”
