Liverpool’s bid for top target reportedly rejected, £44million asking price set

According to the Birmingham Mail, Liverpool have seen their offer for Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker comfortably rejected by the Italian giants Roma. The same source reports that the Giallorossi have set a £44 million price tag on their shot-stopper.

Alisson arrived at Stadio Olimpico from Internacional back in 2016, but he established himself as a first option only this season after the departure of Wojciech Szczesny.

His exquisite performances in Serie A have drawn the attention from Jurgen Klopp, who seems disappointed with the mediocre displays from both of his keepers, Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach is looking to bolster his defensive line, and after the record signing of Virgil Van Dijk, his next priority is to find a reliable goalie.

However, Roma’s asking price is considered excessive by the Reds management, and in case they stick to their demands, it would be difficult for this transfer to go through.
