Newcastle reportedly looking to beat West Ham, Tottenham and Everton to 21-year-old

According to Spanish media outlet El Confidencial, Newcastle have joined West Ham and Everton in the pursuit of £13million-rated Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

The 21-year-old playmaker has been pulling the strings in the middle of the park for the La Liga outfit this term following Dani Ceballos’ exit to Real Madrid.

As a result of his standout performances, the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Barcelona have also been linked with Ruiz alongside the aforementioned trio.

The Toons want to add a quality midfielder to their ranks before the January window shuts, and the cheap buyout clause of the Spain youth international has given them high hopes.

The same goes for the Toffees and Hammers who have both scouted Ruiz in recent weeks.

Given his excellent technique, superb passing range and ability to drive forward from deep midfield, the youngster should be a hit in the English topflight.

Betis would be looking to hold off suitors until summer when they would’ve surely increased Ruiz’s release fee, and this winter could represent the last chance for the likes of Newcastle as far as landing their man goes.
