Liverpool reportedly getting closer to finding agreement for top-class playmaker

The Daily Express have broadcasted the news from the Yahoo Sport regarding the transfer speculations around Monaco star Thomas Lemar.

According to the reports, Liverpool officials have managed to agree on personal terms with the player, but have yet to find a deal with the French giants.

Monaco have set a £88 million price tag on their playmaker, which scared off the Merseyside club for now.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is on the top of the list of Jurgen Klopp’s wishes to replace Philippe Coutinho. However, the German expert seems reluctant to spend such a high figure to acquire his services, which may cause this transfer to collapse.

Monaco would also like to keep Lemar by the end of the season, as they are looking to enhance their chances in the Champions League as well as in the domestic championship.

Jurgen Klopp also considers Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic as a backup option in case he fails to make a deal for the Frenchman.
