According to Italian newspaper Il Tempo, Newcastle United have enquired about Roma right-back Bruno Peres as manager Rafa Benitez looks to further strengthen his defence.
The Magpies recently acquired the services of Kenedy from Chelsea till the end of the campaign, and another Brazilian could join the young left-back at Tyneside this month.
Roma are said to be willing to let Peres go for £8million – a huge bargain for a player who was on the radars of Bayern Munich and PSG months ago.
The 27-year-old is also wanted by West Ham, and could leave the Serie A giants given his lack of regular game time.
Peres can also play as a left-back, and his attacking qualities suggest he would be an upgrade on the duo of DeAndre Yedlin and Javi Manquillo.
Since leaving Santos for Torino in 2014, the speedster and dribbler has recorded 9 goals and 17 assists in 128 Serie A games, and his experience should come handy at Tyneside if Newcastle manage to somehow complete a deal for him.
