Liverpool’s hopes of keeping midfielder reportedly enhanced after latest events

The Daily Mirror have broadcasted the words of Juventus’ president Beppe Marotta towards Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

According to the news, the 24-year-old midfielder could remain at Anfield, despite recent suggestions he will leave Liverpool once his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Old Lady have been chasing the former Bayer Leverkusen player since last transfer window, hoping to capture him on a free transfer next summer.

However, the latest Marotta’s statement gives hope to the Liverpool’s supporters, “For Emre Can, our interest is clear.

“We want to try to bring him to us, but it is not certain we will succeed because at the moment he has a contract offer from Liverpool and could renew.”

The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp considers Can critical for his team, and he seems reluctant to let him leave the club. The former Borussia Dortmund coach will try to lure the Turk to extend his deal with Merseyside club by offering him a significant pay rise.

The Spanish giants Real Madrid are also interested in signing the highly-rated midfielder, but Juventus seems to be leading the race.

Can’s decision will be crucial in this case but, Klopp’s influence on the player could make the difference.
