Liverpool legend sends best wishes to Everton star

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has sent his best wishes to Everton’s James McCarthy.

This comes after McCarthy suffered a horrendous double leg break while playing for the Toffees during their 1-1 draw with West Brom at Goodison Park this weekend.

The Republic of Ireland international was battling Salomon Rondon for the ball when he down clutching his right leg.

Rondon was in tears following the incident, despite the fact that he was entirely blameless for what had happened. Following the game, Rondon said that he was ‘devastated’ by what had happened.

McCarthy now faces a long and hard road to recovery but he has received an outpouring of support following the incident.

Fowler sent his regards and wishes McCarthy well in his recovery process. Fowler tweeted: “Nasty injury to @JMcCarthy_16…never nice seeing that happening to players regardless of who they are or what club they’re at…wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery.”
