Everton boss reportedly interested in signing West Ham defender

According to reports from Daily Mail, Everton manager Sam Allardyce is interested in signing Aaron Cresswell from West Ham, though it is unlikely that a successful bid will be made at least until the summer.

It was Allardyce who brought Cresswell to the Hammers, while he was managing the East London club and since then, the defender has gone on to make more than 150 appearances for the team since 2014.

With Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines and Ashley Williams all past their prime and headed towards the end of their careers, Allardyce will need to beef up his defence during the summer and Cresswell could be one of the players that he goes after.

Despite being a lifelong Liverpool fan, Cresswell could be tempted by a move to the Toffees, as it will allow him the opportunity to return to his hometown.

The Hammers could also be open to offers, as Cresswell has not been able to hit top form this season, though he has performed decently during his last few games.
