Daily Express have broadcasted the words from the reputable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio regarding the future of Thomas Lemar. According to the reports, Atletico Madrid are set to challenge Liverpool for the signature of Monaco’s playmaker, in case Barcelona manage to bring Antoine Griezmann at Camp Nou.

Jurgen Klopp has identified one of Lemar or Riyad Mahrez as a perfect replacement for recently departed Philippe Coutinho. However, the Reds have not made an official approach for either player so far.

The 22-year-old midfielder is a technically gifted playmaker, with great vision and powerful left foot.

His stunning performances with Monaco last season have drawn the attention from several big European clubs, including Liverpool and Arsenal.

But, Diego Simeone is looking to take the talented Frenchman at the Metropolitan Stadium if his international colleague completes his transfer to the ranks of the Catalan giants.

Liverpool and Atletico will have to allocate a significant amount of money to sign Lemars after Monaco representatives slapped the 90 million price tag on their jewel.
