According to reports, Celtic target Jack Rodwell is ready to leave Sunderland but will be looking for a pay-out from the troubled Black Cats.
Rodwell is currently believed to be in a dispute with the Championship strugglers, who are prepared to terminate his contract and allow him to leave the club on a free transfer.
He is however likely to be looking for a pay-out before leaving the club as he has 18 months remaining on his contract which earns him £70,000-per-week.
Rodwell joined the Black Cats from Manchester City in 2014 for a fee of £10 million and a lot was expected from him, however he has under-achieved.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Celtic after playing just 104 minutes of Championship football this season.
Should Celtic complete this move, Rodwell can take inspiration from Scott Sinclair who also underachieved in England but who has managed to make a success of himself in Scotland.
