Liverpool legend Carragher delivers brutal assessment of Karius and Mignolet

Jamie Carragher has delivered a brutal assessment of Liverpool goalkeepers Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet after the Reds recorded a 4-3 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

Karius started the game in place of Mignolet who has come under pressure and his error allowed Leroy Sane to equalize for City during the first half.

It appears that both Mignolet and Karius have been unable to convince either manager Jurgen Klopp or fans of the club that they are capable of being long-term first choice keepers for the club.

The Reds are likely to look for a new keeper during the summer and have been linked with Jack Butland of Stoke City.

Carragher said of Karius and Mignolet: “They’re not great at soaking up pressure.

“This Liverpool don’t ever seem like they can cope. They’re probably better to keep going and keep attacking. Four shots on target, three goals.

“It feels like when you watch Liverpool during these big games, the actual shots on target that they concede never seems that many.”
