The Saint Marching reported a few days ago about possible interest from Southampton in Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong.
Now, the Daily Journal suggests that there may be more EPL sides that would like to bring Armstrong to their ranks, including West Bromwich Albion, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Swansea City.
The 25-year-old footballer who arrived from Dundee United in 2015 has impressed in Hoops shirt over the last couple of years. He has been one of the most important players for Brendan Rodgers’ team.
Armstrong is a box-to-box midfielder who has tremendous passing and shooting qualities. He often gets into the attack using the space left by the strikers.
Southampton already tried to bring Scottish international last summer, but Celtic rejected the offer. Now, Mauricio Pellegrino looks to add more depth to his midfield, as Oriol Romeu and James Ward-Prowse are both struggling with injuries.
Saints will have to allocate significant funds if they want to persuade Brendan Rodgers to sanction Armstrong move this January.
