Club reportedly set to reject special request made by Liverpool

RB Leipzig are set to reject Liverpool’s advances to try and get Naby Keita this month. A deal was reached between the German club and the Reds during the summer which will see Keita arriving at Anfield at the end of the season.

Sources from Sky Germany have revealed that Leipzig are reluctant to let Keita go this month even if it is for an improved fee.

Liverpool have money to spend after they sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona during the weekend for a fee believed to be in the region of £145 million.

The 22-year old Keita has made 13 appearances for Leipzig in the Bundesliga this season, scoring twice and providing one assist.

Last season, he hit eight goals and recorded several assists from 31 Bundesliga appearances.

Keita was widely praised for his performances last season as he helped his club finish the Bundesliga in second position and qualify for the Champions League.
