According to Austrian media outlet Salzburger Nachrichte, Liverpool and Tottenham are amongst the suitors keeping tabs on 16-year-old Olympique Lyon forward Willem Geubbels.
The teenage sensation has recently broken into the first team of the Ligue 1 outfit, making 3 appearances off the bench, with one coming in the Europa League.
As a result, Geubbels became the first player born in the 21st century to appear in the continental competition, as well as the youngest player ever to make his debut in it.
Both Liverpool and Tottenham are always looking out for the best young talents across the globe, and while Geubbels is far from being a signing for the here and now, his huge potential would benefit whoever comes out top of the battle for his signature.
Naturally a winger, the French kid, who’s also attracting Bayern Munich and Chelsea, can also play through the middle, with his lightning pace, skills and finishing abilities drawing comparisons with PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.
Spurs have an upper hand given manager Mauricio Pochettino’s track record of improving and giving youngsters chances, but competition for Geubbels’ signature in the coming months is bound to become fierce.
