Southampton reportedly keen on a move for Liverpool man

Sturridge

According to reports, Southampton are interested in signing Daniel Sturridge from Liverpool this month.

The 28-year old Sturridge has struggled for game time this season as lies below the likes of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in the Reds hierarchy.

He will be looking to play as regularly as possible during the second half of the season in order to try and win a place in the England squad for the 2018 World Cup so a move away from Anfield will be appealing.

The Saints want to sign Sturridge on loan in order to bolster their misfiring attacking options for the second half of the season.

What could however complicate matters is the fact that the Reds reportedly only will let the player leave if they can sell him permanently and are hoping to get £25 million for his signature.

The Saints have only scored 20 goals from 21 Premier League games this season which makes it quite evident that attacking reinforcements are needed.
