Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has responded to speculation linking his side with a January move for Celtic star Moussa Dembele.
“I’m aware of the speculation and at the moment that’s all it is,” he said, as quoted by freelance journalist Elliot Foster’s Twitter account.
Dembele established himself as one of the most highly rated young forwards in Europe last season as he went on to score 32 goals in all competitions to help Celtic win the domestic treble undefeated.
Though the striker has been unable to build upon his performances from last season so far this term, the Scottish Sun has claimed that Brighton are interested in bidding £20 million in order to recruit Dembele this month as they look to bolster their chances of Premier League survival ahead of the second half of the season.
It is perhaps just a matter of time before Dembele is playing in one of the elite Leagues of European football.
