West Ham defender Jose Fonte has indicated that Ryan Bertand could be set to join Liverpool.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Liverpool had agreed a £75 million figure to buy Van Dijk from Southampton and in the process; he became world football’s most expensive defender.
After the move was made public, Van Dijk took to social media platform to post a picture of himself with a Liverpool shirt.
Fonte, who is a former team-mate of Bertrand’s at St Mary’s, seemed to indicate that the England international could also be set to make a move to Liverpool.
He responded to Van Dijk’s Instagram post by tagging Bertrand and writing: ‘Pleased for you!!! Good luck brother!!! Another one @iamryanbertrand [winking face emoji].’
JurgenKlopp’s sides defence has been shaky this season and they were certainly be hoping that Van Diyk can help.
Should they sign Bertrand, Liverpool fans can have more reason to be excited.
