Everton reportedly in talks over signing striker for £20million

Everton are still locked in talks with Besiktas for striker Cenk Tosun.

The Turkish international was a target for Crystal Palace and Newcastle during the summer transfer window and has managed to score 12 goals this season.

He has also been a key member of the Besiktas squad which has managed to qualify for the Champions League Last 16 and who will play against Bayern Munich.

Everton are looking to bring in a new striker to the club in January in order to provide support to veteran Wayne Rooney.

They largely struggled during the first half of the campaign and a major reason for why that was the case was because they failed to find a replacement for Romelu Lukaku who ended up joining Manchester United.

Besiktas are demanding a fee of £20 million for Tosun. While that is not a problem for Everton, Allardyce wants a striker who can quickly adapt to life in the Premier League.
