Everton linked Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud’s chances of a January transfer appear to have taken a blow after he has been ruled out of action till February.
Giroud has so far only started one Premier League game this season with Arsene Wenger preferring to use Alexandre Lacazette instead.
The 31-year old who has managed to score several goals this season is determined to play as regularly as possible during the second half of the campaign in order to cement his place in the France squad for the 2018 World Cup.
He was linked with a move to Everton during the summer transfer window and they were likely to rekindle their interest next month.
However the chances of a move happening have taken a blow due to the injury which the player suffered.
He suffered a hamstring problem during the Gunners match in the Carabao Cup against West Ham on Tuesday and this could rule him out of action for six weeks.
