Why £6million-man can help Newcastle escape relegation upon his imminent January arrival

As per Daily Mail, Newcastle have all but secured a January loan deal for Chelsea winger Kenedy, with the Brazilian set to arrive Tyneside once a loan fee is agreed upon in the days leading to the new year.

The 21-year-old arrived Stamford Bridge from Fluminense for £6million in 2015, and was a summer loan target of the Toons.

Manager Rafa Benitez appears to have finally gotten his man, and he could be reaping the rewards in the next 5 months.

Kenedy has been out of Chelsea’s first-team due to the brilliance and consistency of Marcos Alonso, with his only appearances this term coming in the EFL Cup.

However, his quality is such that he will walk straight into Newcastle’s XI, and his ability to play both in defence and attack on the left flank is a feature the Toons will be grateful for.

Benitez’s men have found themselves in the relegation places after a woeful run that saw them lose 8 of the last 9 league games, and recruitments capable of leading them to safety are a must.

Kenedy’s power, technical ability and eye for goal are features the team can hugely benefit from, while the fact that he will be hoping to catch the attention of the national team scouts and selectors ahead of the world cup should also see him turn in his best performances.

With both his parent club and country to convince, Kenedy can be expected to put in quality services that could prove vital in guiding Newcastle to safety.
