According to reports, Liverpool are leading the race to sign Roma defender Emerson Palmieri as the Italian club does not wish to sell him to their Serie A rivals Juventus.
Juventus are keen on recruiting Palmieri as Alex Sandro has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea.
Roma will be willing to let the 23-year old leave if they are offered around £25 million, however they will be hesitant to sell to a Serie A rival.
This would seemingly put Juve out of the running and make JurgenKlopp’s side the favorites to sign the player.
Liverpool have been struggling defensively this season and it is quite evident that they will need to sign new defenders if they wish to improve as a team.
Meanwhile though Palmieri has only played three games in all competitions for Juve this season, he is still young and will get better as he nears the peak of his career.
