According to reports, Everton and Newcastle are set to battle during the January transfer window in the race to sign Bristol City defender Joe Bryan.
Both clubs have been struggling to find consistency in the left-back position and Bryan’s impressive performances at Championship level do suggest that he could be ready to step up to Premier League level.
Bristol meanwhile are keen to keep hold of the defender as they themselves look to launch a promotion push.
In addition to being a solid defender, Bryan has also proven that he can be useful in attack as he has scored three goals and also chipped in with two assists so far this term.
He is regarded as one of the best defenders outside the top-flight and it is perhaps just a matter of time before he makes the step up to Premier League level.
