Everton reportedly handed blow in hopes of signing prolific attacker

According to reports, Christian Benteke wishes to remain at Crystal Palace despite interest from Everton.

It has been reported that Toffees boss Sam Allardyce wishes to sign the former Aston Villa and Liverpool man during the January transfer window.

The Belgium international Benteke netted 15 goals from 36 games in the Premier League last season to help the Eagles avoid relegation.

He has struggled for form this season and has so far netted just one goal and provided one assist from 11 League games.

Big Sam is looking to recruit a new striker during the January transfer window and Benteke is said to be one of the players who he has looked at.

However it now seems that Benteke will remain at Palace and Allardyce will have to look elsewhere.

Meanwhile Toffees striker Sandro Ramirez is set to snub Valencia in favour of rejoining Malaga during the January transfer window.
