Liverpool goalkeeper Mignolet expresses surprise regarding teammate

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has admitted that he did not expect Mohamed Salah to be so prolific this season.

Liverpool recorded a comfortable 4-0 win against Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend and Salah was again on target along with Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and defender DejanLovren.

The 25-year-old Salah has proven to be arguably the best signing of the last summer transfer window and has so far scored 20 goals from 26 games in all competitions for his side.

His performances have reportedly already drawn interest from Spanish side Real Madrid who are renowned for forking out hefty amounts of cash to sign the World’s best players.

When discussing his team-mate, Mignolet said: “Yeah of course; he’s already scored 20 goals, as a winger.

“Let’s hope he keeps scoring goals and gets his tally up. I wasn’t expecting him to score that many goals, especially as a winger.

“But he’s doing well, working hard and let’s hope he can keep doing what he’s doing.”
