Everton manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly set to revive his side’s interest in signing Christian Benteke during the January transfer window.
Allardyce is familiar with Benteke having worked with him during the second half of last season while he was managing Crystal Palace.
Everton were largely disappointing prior to the arrival of Allardyce and one of the major reasons cited for why this was the case was because they failed to sign a new striker during the summer after Romelu Lukaku left the club to join Manchester United.
Allardyce reportedly believes that Benteke will be a striker who can score many goals for the club. The Belgium international was famous for his time with Aston Villa.
He however has struggled for form this season and only scored his first goal of the term against Leicester City this weekend.
Considering that Palace are a club that are likely to be involved in the relegation scrap, it remains to be seen if manager Roy Hodgson will be willing to sell.
