Everton and West Ham reportedly keen on £20million-rated utility defender

As per the Daily Mail, Everton are keen on bringing Lille defender Adama Soumaoro to Goodison Park in January, but they face competition from West Ham and a couple of suitors.

The £20million-rated French 25-year-old has been a mainstay in his side’s defence, with his ability to play effectively well across the backline an outstanding feature.

Lille are looking to cash in on one of their most valuable assets in order to balance the books, and suitors have an opportunity to make a clean swoop.

The Toffees and Hammers have scouted Soumaoro in recent weeks, while his talents have also attracted the likes of Monaco and Borussia Dortmund.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce wants defensive strengthening in order to increase his side’s chances of finishing up on the log, while his West Ham counterpart David Moyes wants signings that can help him steer clear of relegation.

Given his versatility, Soumaoro is a great option that can also act as cover in the fullback positions, and he can prove to be a great asset to any side that emerges top of the race.
