Jamie Redknapp has revealed that he is confident that Liverpool can overcome FC Porto in their Champions League last 16 clash.
“Porto conceded 10 goals in the group stage and that will play into Liverpool’s hands,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“With Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino in such form, you would expect Liverpool to score goals against this team.”
Jurgen Klopp’s men secured their place in the last 16 of Europe’s Premier Club competition after recording a 7-0 victory over Spartak Moscow last week in their final group game.
The Merseyside club also set a record for goals scored by a Premier League club in the Champions League group stage after finding the back of the net 23 times in six games.
Liverpool will go into the tie with Porto as favourites and the fact that the Portuguese giants conceded ten goals in the group stage suggests that they could have difficulty coping with the threat of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
