Liverpool midfielder reportedly attracting interest from Sunderland

According to a report published by the Sunderland Echo, Liverpool striker Ben Woodburn is attracting interest from the Black Cats.

Chris Coleman watched Woodburn in action when he played for the Liverpool U23’s as they defeated Sunderland on Sunday.

Woodburn impressed during the 4-1 win for his side, completing the scoring with a goal from 25-yards out.

Coleman is a big fan of the teen and handed him his debut for the Wales national team and the youngster hit the headlines during that game by scoring a stunner against Austria.

Though he is highly rated, Woodburn has only made one appearance so far this season for the Liverpool first team which came in the EFL Cup.

It will perhaps be best for his confidence and development if the Reds allow him to spend the second half of the season on loan with the Championship strugglers.

Coleman will be keen on add more strikers to his team, especially as it looks like they will lose their top scorer Lewis Grabban, who looks set to be recalled by his parent club Bournemouth.
