Everton youngster keen on earning England call-up

Everton youngster Ademola Lookman is determined to break into the England national team.

Lookman is looking to emulate his former team-mates from the England U-20 setup Lewis Cook and Dominic Solanke and break into Gareth Southgate’s team.

Lookman arrived at Goodison Park from Charlton Athletic during last January and memorably scored a goal during his senior team debut against Manchester City.

He has however struggled to earn regular game time so far this season and has played in just six Premier League games so far, failing to net a goal or make an assist.

Nonetheless, he has scored two goals which came in the Europa League and he has now expressed his desire to be called up to the England national team squad.

“I have played with them for a couple of years and to see them doing that is nice; they deserve it,” Lookman said of Cook and Solanke’s senior recognition. “I don’t see why I can’t follow in their footsteps.

“It is a big club, Everton, and I am still learning, still young. With time I think everything will come.”
