Having failed to make no impact since his £5.2million summer arrival from Malaga, Everton are looking to find an upgrade on Sandro Ramirez as their striker search gets underway in January.
As per Spanish publication Don Balon, the Toffees have identified out-of-favour Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer as a top target next month.
The Spaniard has been frustrated by lack of regular playing time since his £26million switch from Valencia last summer, and not even the unimpressive form of Luis Suarez has afforded him a chance this term.
Alcacer wants to go to next year’s World Cup with Spain, and promises of more playing minutes could tempt him away from Camp Nou.
The 24-year-old is also wanted by his former club and could prove to be a decent option if landed by Everton.
The former Valencia skipper has played just 10 games for Barcelona this term, but nevertheless has 5 goals to his name, while 41 La Liga goals in 139 appearances since his Getafe days is a decent return.
Bringing in another unproven talent at Premier League level remains a gamble for Everton, but Alcacer remains one of the top quality and a affordable options that could be landed midway through the campaign.
