Shay Given believes that Newcastle will secure a hard fought win when they play against Leicester City on Saturday night.
After starting the season positively, the Magpies have been below par in terms of their performances recently and are currently five points above the relegation places after collecting 15 points from their opening 15 Premier League fixtures.
On a disappointing note, they have taken just one point from their past six games. Leicester meanwhile have enjoyed a resurgence under Claude Puel and could move up to eighth position on the standings if they defeat the Magpies.
Given however believes that the Magpies will prevail on the night.
“I’m hoping to see them [Newcastle] win the game,” Given told Express Sport, after predicting a 2-1 Magpies win. “But it’sgonna be a difficult game, of course.
“Leicester are playing really well. Obviously the new manager’s come in and they’ve done very, very well under their new manager.
“It’sgonna be a very difficult game, I think. Newcastle have won once in 10 [games], their form isn’t very good. In an ideal world they’re gonna win the game, but I think it’s gonna be a tough one.”
