Everton could shock Liverpool says Toffees legend

Former Everton star Leon Osman has said that new Toffees boss Sam Allardyce could make all the difference for the club this weekend as they prepare to play in the Merseyside derby against rivals Liverpool.

Allardyce was last week appointed as the new Toffees manager replacing the sacked Ronald Koeman and recorded his first victory during the weekend as he led the club to a 2 -0 victory against Huddersfield Town through goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Though the Toffees could be on the road to recovery, they face off against an in form Liverpool side this weekend and will definitely be the underdogs going into the game.

“The fact that we have got a new manager, and the fact that it is well known there is such a poor record at Anfield, is going to make it interesting,” Osman told Sky Sports ahead of the clash.

“Sam Allardyce is the last manager to win at Anfield. So there are signs that Everton can go there and win, but obviously they will be up against an in-form Liverpool with an attacking force, but they do have their weaknesses at the back.”
