Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that some of his players are “really done” after the team recorded victories over Brighton and Stoke.
The Reds continued their recent run of fine form by recording a 5-1 victory against Brighton and Klopp believes that his sides fitness played a role in this.
Emre Can opened the scoring on the day, Roberto Firmino grabbed a brace while Philippe Coutinho was also on target and an own goal from Brighton completed the rout.
Klopp made many changes to his side for the game including a defensive reshuffle where Dejan Lovren was partnered by Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Sadio Mane sat out and Joe Gomez was not included in the match day squad as he had a virus which meant that Trent Alexander Arnold was given an opportunity.
Andy Robertson replaced Alberto Moreno at left back while Jordan Henderson and James Milner also played.
When speaking about why he made so many changes, Klopp said: “When you look in the dressing room after the game, they are all really done.
“We changed again six times, but it’s really hard for the boys. Now we play Wednesday in a very, very important game against Moscow and then we play the derby on Sunday.”
