According to reports, Everton have made Watford’s Troy Deeney one of their top targets for the January transfer window.
The Toffees have been widely criticized for their failure to find a replacement for RomeluLukaku during the summer transfer window and Deeney has been one of the players with whom they have been linked.
The Toffees have long been linked with the signature of Deeney and their director of football Steve Walsh is said to be a fan of the striker. Walsh also previously attempted to sign the striker while he worked for Leicester City.
Deeney’s future with the Hornets has become the subject of speculation recently as he has failed to get regular game time this season under Marco Silva. He has so far started just three Premier League games with Andre Gray being the preferred choice in attack.
Therefore, Deeney could be tempted to move to the Toffees as he could receive regular game time under Sam Allardyce.
