Liverpool hero Phil Thompson has claimed that Mohamed Salah has been a revelation for the Reds this season.
The Egyptian arrived at Anfield during the summer transfer window and has proven to be one of the best signings of the summer as he has already gone on to score 17 goals in all competitions for the Reds.
He also came off the bench during the week and netted a brace as Jurgen Klopp’s side went on to defeat Stoke City 3-0.
Many would have doubted whether Salah was a good signing as he had a previous unsuccessful spell with Chelsea, however he has managed to prove his critics wrong.
Thompson said about Salah: “He’s been a revelation. Dare I say it when we were signing him in the summer I was thinking, ‘I’ve seen this player at Chelsea and he didn’t pull up any trees for Chelsea’.
“He didn’t have many games and I think he scored two goals in about 13 matches and I thought, he didn’t even look a player.
“When he was at Roma, I looked at the stats of the player and thought, ‘it’s not just the goals he scores but the assists that he made.”
