Ginola explains how Allardyce will get more out of Rooney than Unsworth did

Former Everton midfielder David Ginola has said that David Unsworth cannot understand the egos of players such as Wayne Rooney after he opted to drop the former England national team and Manchester United captain from the Toffees side that lost to Southampton last weekend.

Ginola has now claimed that Unsworth cannot handle the ego of a player such as Rooney and added that Sam Allardyce who is expected to be appointed as new Toffees manager will be able to bring out the best from the veteran.

“Sam [Allardyce] is going to bring back the best of Wayne Rooney,” Ginola said. “Managers these days – it’s not how you’re going to do training, it’s how you’re going to handle the egos of the players.

“Wayne Rooney is a huge name in the world of football. David Unsworth is small compared to Rooney – no disrespect. Rooney, at Manchester United, proved he was such a huge player. Unsworth is not capable of handling players like that.”
