According to reports, Schalke will offer a new contract to Loen Goretzka in order to ward off interest from Liverpool.
The 22 year old Goretzka has also been linked with the likes of Manchester United , Arsenal as well as a number of high profile clubs across Europe.
Should he not sign a new contract with Schalke before the end of the season, he will become a free agent.
The deal which Schalke are proposing will see Goretzka earn £10.8 million per year and will also include a hefty buyout clause.
Goretzka, who was impressive for the German national team during their 2017 Confederations Cup, is happy with life at Schalke has enjoys living in the Ruhr area.
Schalke are also performing well at the moment and occupy third position on the Bundesliga standings with 24 points from 13 games.
They are five points adrift of Bayern Munich who are at the top of the standings.
