Tony Cottee says Celtic are not good enough to win this trophy

Celtic vs Hearts

Football pundit Tony Cottee has suggested that Celtic are not good enough to win the Europa League this season.

The Bhoys are currently playing in the Champions League but will not qualify for the last 16 of Europe’s Premier Club competition.

Should they manage to defeat Anderlecht, they can however finish third in their group and qualify for the Europa League.

Many Celtic fans will be hoping that the Scottish giants can do well in the Europa League as it will not involve competing against sides such as Bayern Munich and PSG, who the club faced off against in the Champions League this season.

Cottee however believes that Brendan Rodgers side will not be able to win the Europa League. Cottee said about Celtic on the Sky Sports Daily show, “I am not sure ultimately they are good enough to win the Europa League. I think there will be some good teams in it, there always is come the New Year.”
