Everton owner identifies 65-year-old as main managerial target

According to reports Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has made Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’ Neill his favorite to become new manager of the club.

A report published by the Sun has claimed that O’Neill is on top of a three man list which includes Tony Pulis, who was sacked by West Brom last Monday as well as current interim boss David Unsworth.

Current Watford manager Marco Silva is understood to have been the Toffees number one target for the past few weeks.

However the Hornets do not wish to part ways with their boss at this point in time. The report added that Pulis and O’Neill are now the two main contenders for the job.

It is understood that O’Neill would want a long-term deal should he succeed Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park. Pulis meanwhile is said to be open to a short term deal after being made available last week.
