New twist in Newcastle takeover plans as Amanda Staveley could now miss out

Reports claim PCP Capital Partners led by billionaire businesswoman Amanda Staveley has submitted a £300million bid to Newcastle owner Mike Ashley.

However, it’s believed Ashley wants much more and Staveley’s team would be tabling another bid anytime soon.

Nevertheless, PCP aren’t the only ones interested in buying Newcastle, as The Shields Gazette reveals that “a number of other potential buyers have also signed non-disclosure agreements with the club.”

Despite Staveley’s team being the favorites to seal an agreement with Ashley, the other potential buyers could yet make a bid of their own once they go through the club’s books.

Should a better offer come through, PCP could miss out as the current owner is keen on selling to the highest bidder.

While a takeover was expected before 2018, chances are things could now linger on until further notice.

In the eventuality of that happening, it could deal a huge blow on Newcastle’s January transfer plans as Ashley will surely not be providing enough funds if he’s still owner during the winter window.
