West Ham boss David Moyes has revealed that he is not surprised that speculation is linking Watford boss Marco Silva with the Everton managerial vacancy.

Moyes holds a fond place in the hearts of many Everton fans as he led the club admirably between 2002 and 2013 before moving to Manchester United.

The Toffees have been without a manager since they sacked Ronald Koeman following their 5-2 defeat against Arsenal last month.

Though Silva has only been manager of the Hornets since last summer, he has been praised for helping the club play an attractive brand of football during the early parts of this season and is regarded as a great up and coming manager.

“I think what he done at Hull, what he’s done at Watford, that’s the reason why,” Moyes told Football.London when asked if he is surprised that Silva has been linked with Everton.

“He has shown he can work in this league and has had great success at home especially. I think h has started very well.”
