Celtic legend aims brutal dig at Rangers as managerial search continues

Celtic vs Hearts

Rangers are yet to replace erstwhile manager Pedro Caixinha 3 weeks after sacking the Portuguese, and it seems interim boss Graeme Murty will remain in charge for a little longer having led the side to back to back victories.

A new manager or not, the Light Blues remain far behind Old Firm eternal rivals Celtic, and the Parkhead outfit are clear favourites to retain the domestic treble this season.

The Hoops domestic unbeaten run has hit 63 – a new British record of all time, and it doesn’t look likely that the Gers can manage to string 3 to 5 consecutive victories together having not done so in a long while.

Former Celtic striker Andy Walker is of the opinion that Rangers have lost a lot of ground and value to the extent that their managerial candidates should be interviewing the club, and not the other way round.

The Bhoys legend aimed the dig at the Ibrox outfit on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily earlier during the week.

In Walker’s words: “If it was me, whoever the candidate is, they should be interviewing the club, not the other way around. No one knows how much money there is to spend or how the regime is going to work.”

Rangers spent around £8million recruiting 8 new players during the summer transfer window, but it has been suggested they might have to spend almost 10 times of that in order to have the chance of truly challenging Celtic.
