Liverpool’s Emre Can could move to Manchester City after his current contract with the Reds expires, according to the Express.
Can is into the final year of his current deal and looks unlikely to sign a new contract with the Merseyside outfit.
This means that the German international will be eligible to hold talks with potential suitors in the January transfer window before completing the move at the end of his contract with Liverpool.
As a result, many clubs have expressed an interest in Can and signing him for free will be one of the biggest bargains for any team.
The teams leading the chase for the 23-year-old are believed to be Manchester City and Juventus, both of whom are closely monitoring Can’s contractual issue.
In an update, it has been claimed that Pep Guardiola is keen to bring Can to replace the ageing Yaya Toure because both the players have a similar playing style and the German will fit in well under the Spaniard’s system.
Losing Can to a direct rival will definitely be a massive blow for Liverpool and the Reds hierarchy will definitely hope that the 23-year-old will join a club abroad if he indeed decides to leave Anfield.
